Inventorum at the Military Institute of Medicine

Dr Jarosław Protasiewicz has presented the system Inventorum at the Military Institute of Medicine during the V edition of the “Week of Science and Education”.

Inventorum – where science, industry and business meet

Inventorum, a web portal for scientists and entrepreneurs, has been fully deployed in December 2015. Inventorum took 21 months to complete. Parallel to the programmers’ and OPI PIB researchers’ work, a study was performed on the needs and experiences of persons who deal with innovation in companies. The portal went through four test phases, including consultation with experts and professionals representing different branches of industry.

Studies and Materials in Applied Computer Science

Marcin Mirończuk has published a new article ”The hybrid decision support system for Fire Service – chosen project’s problems ” in Studies and Materials in Applied Computer Science. This article describes the process of designing a hybrid decision support system HSWD for the Fire Service. This designing process realize a methodology of design for trustworthy software – DFTS. In this article describes chosen project problems and their solution on the first stage of proposed design process. In this paper authors describe causes and consequences of the absence of certain information solutions in the PSP. Especially authors describe three source like a methodology, environment and user of these causes. These sources at the beginning of the project play a central role. At the beginning of the project the source like a software, hardware and measurement play a less significant role. The authors in detail describe any cause and gave way to its solution

The Second International Conference on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Social Media (CSCESM2015)

Marcin Mirończuk took part in The Second International Conference on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Social Media (CSCESM2015) in Łódź, Poland. The conference was a great place to discuss innovation issues in the industry as well as to present own achievements. It has been presented the article “The Cascading Knowledge Discovery in Databases process in the Information System development.”  In the article is shown a proposal of information system project method. This method based on author’s cascading knowledge discovery in databases process. In this article, the author also to presented use case of this process. All analysis presented in this article based on text reports from the rescue fire service.

IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology in Seville

Jaroslaw Protasiewicz took part in IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology in Seville, Spain. The conference was a great place to discuss innovation issues in the industry as well as to present own achievements. It has been presented the article “Improvement of MLP models for forecasting electrical energy consumption using OBD and OBS methods.”  In the article is shown how to apply two reduction algorithms (Optimal Brain Damage and Optimal Brain Surgeon)  of a neural network architecture  to improve the prediction quality of a multilayer perceptron network. Our findings can be applied to the task of forecasting trends of innovation in the modern economy as a part of the Inventorum project.
